Agentic coding infrastructure is GitHub's hottest category
8 of the 15 GitHub trending items are tools for the AI-agent development workflow: ponytail (1,354 stars) makes agents write less code, atlas (888) adds source control for multi-agent changes, ECC (516) and hermes-agent (533) tune agent harnesses and memory, and Chrome shipped an official devtools-mcp server (148). HN's biggest threads are the models powering this stack (Gemini 3.8 Flash, 982 points/560 comments). Every layer of multi-agent work — review, versioning, debugging, memory — still lacks polished commercial tooling.
Distrust of AI output is becoming a product category
blader/humanizer (374 stars) strips AI tells from writing; an indie hacker built a PDF-to-JSON tool 'because I didn't trust the AI's output' (12); and the HN manufactured-sources story (393/190) shows how much low-trust AI content is circulating. Verification, provenance and de-AI-ification are turning into paid categories of their own.
AI assistants are becoming shoppers and storefronts aren't ready
An Indie Hackers founder launched a $149 check that shows whether a store 'breaks' AI shopping assistants (47) — early proof merchants feel exposed as agents start browsing and buying on users' behalf. Stores need machine-readable product data, agent-proof checkout flows, and monitoring of how assistants describe them.
AI answer engines are dissolving bottom-of-funnel search
An HN investigation (393 pts, 190 comments) revealed three sites mass-produced 215,128 'best software' pages that Perplexity cites — proof AI answers are already a gameable, revenue-bearing surface. On Indie Hackers, a founder who rode bottom-of-funnel content to $40k+ MRR says AI search forced her to change tactics (91). Prerender.io's $220K MRR listing shows how big the last 'make your site machine-readable' wave became; GEO (generative engine optimization) is the next land-grab.
